Postcards from the Isle of Wight

I've been going to the Isle of Wight my whole life...my family stays in the house that my grandparents bought in the 1950s - big thank you to them for choosing so well! It's not far from the mainland, but crossing the water gives it a unique feel...slower-paced yes, and slightly caught in time.
These are some photos that I've taken this summer: things that I've been doing or that have caught my eye - or made me laugh.
Don't get me wrong, the weather left much to be desired although it looks great in these pics. But we all know we only take photos in the sunshine don't we?!
The little path that runs between our house and the sea
Favourite beach in the world - Priory Bay.
I love walking across this causeway in Bembridge Harbour...at high tide the water surrounds you and at low tide it's empty on either side. The power of the tides never fails to amaze me.
Model village anyone?!
There's many an opportunity for some retro fun. I got completely transfixed by the shove ha'penny game on the pier and had to be dragged away!
(I'd love to know what was above ham...)
I'm always inspired by the textures of the seaside, and couldn't resist a little photo shoot.
But now it's back to London and back to reality...
Until next time Isle of Wight xx
